Marathon Universal Patcher Quick Start
I'm not responsible to mental and physical damage caused by
this patcher or patched Marathon application.
Try at your own risk!
How to use this patcher
Just Drag and Drop Marathon Application itself onto this patcher. If you can't
do that, rebuild your desktop or Stuff it once then expand it. OK. Now you can see
the dialog below. Select patches you want then hit Patch! After a few seconds, you
must have patched version of Marathon application.
Default output file name , i.e. patched Marathon application's name, is original
application's name + "patch". If file that has same name exists, patcher won't
write out patched appl. If you want patched Marathon to be FAT, i.e. if you want
to patch both forks, apply patch twice. This patcher knows Marathon version 1.0,1.1,
1.2 and 1.2J (Japanese localized version). If you have any other version, please let
me know. The default shield boost value is 450, and this is triple (X3). And number of magazines is 15.
I want your feedback!
This is freeware, so you can distribute it freely if this document accompanies.
But I want your feedback or results. So please feedback me some funny or amazing
Save Game File (you can save at anywhere by using Save Game patch) or Film (like Miha)
with brief description about what is funny or amazing. If you send me some, I'll
feed those back again to public site such as ftp.amug.org.
Michio Hashimoto (a.k.a. Miha) is Marathon Master who finished the game at
"Total Carnage" level in March '95. Then he tried to record films for all 27 levels
in Marathon at the most difficult level. And he did it. You can replay his "Films for
Patched Marathon" for 21 levels. For doing this, you should simply check "mp Patch"
and hit "Patch!". That's all. Enjoy!
And at the end, I'd like to thank Nobuhiko Yoshida for his idea to make such a "variable patcher".
